TALENT OR SPOKESMODEL COMPETITION 25% For the state pageant, contestants' talent selection may not be longer than 2 minutes in length. Talents can range from singing, dancing, piano and instruments, monologues, baton twirling, etc. There are so many talent choices out there and everyone is gifted with some kind of talent. No live accompanists allowed included in your talent portion. PSA theme can be about the state or hometown you lived in. It should promote some areas of interests about your state or hometown. A cocktail dress should be the outfit of choice for PSA competition. The length of delivering the PSA may not be longer than 2 minutes. Contestant's skill and personality, interpretative ability, technical skill level, stage presence, entertainment value and totality of elements (including costume, props, voice, use of body and choreography) are some of the criteria for scoring. This includes a talent write up provided by you. TEEN SWIMSUIT COMPETITION 20% Swimsuits MUST be one piece solid color that have to be in good taste. Color and style choices are left up to the contestants. The criteria for scoring the swimsuit competition are as follows: overall first impression; statement of physical fitness and health; walking, posture, poise and grace; sense of confidence and comfort; energy, charisma and expression; beauty of face and figure. Matching wrap around is needed. See picture on left. Clear shoes, 2 1/2 to 3 inch heels, no nylons permitted.TEEN EVENING GOWN COMPETITION 20% Contestants will model a long formal evening gown of their choosing. The criteria for judging the evening wear competition are: overall first impression; walk, posture, carriage and grace; appropriateness of evening wear; beauty and sense of attractiveness; sense of confidence; personality; stage presence and totality of all elements. TEEN INTERVIEW COMPETITION 25% The judges' panel will meet each contestant for a private interview. Contestants should wear a nice Business Suit (skirt and blazer) with nylons. The contestants will meet with the panel of judges for a four minute interview and a 30 seconds summation. Contestants should have a platform or critical issue that they would like to promote during their year if chosen as the winner. The criteria for judging this competition are: speaking ability; ability to answer questions; confidence and conviction; poise and personality; and totality of elements.
TEEN PHOTOGENIC COMPETITION 10% Delegates will be judged on facial beauty and overall cover model look from their choice of submitted 5 X7 or 8 X 10 inch color photograph are acceptable. Photographs will be returnable. Additional Awards will receive a beautiful trophy Congeniality Award – Contestants will vote for the most friendliest girl in each division. Academic In Excellence (Top Five) – maintaining a GPA of 3.8 - 4.0 for entire year. (must submit school transcripts) Community Service – People’s Choice Award – Most Spirited - Talent/Spokes model Award – Best in Evening Wear - Best in Swimsuit - Most Photogenic
